Gizem Emre was born in Berlin on May 22, 1995. She discovered her passion and talent for acting when she was still at school and pursued this path ambitiously. At the tender age of 17, she applied to an acting agency and it wasn't long before she had her big breakthrough. In "Fack Ju Göhte" she played the role of Zeynep alongside Elyas M'Barek and Karoline Herfurth. She was able to convince the audience and secured the role for parts 2 and 3 of the extremely successful series.

But Gizem can do even more. In "Nicht mein Tag" by Peter Thorwarth she played alongside Moritz Bleibtreu. Numerous TV series and films followed, such as "Großstadtrevier," "SOKO München," "Die Neue" and "Zaun an Zaun." Since 2014, she has played the role of Dana Wegener in the successful series "Alarm für Cobra 11".

In the same year, she was able to gain her first experience in Hollywood. She starred in the US series "Homeland" with leading actress Claire Danes.
She is also not unknown in Turkey. In 2016, she starred in the popular Turkish series "Muhtesem Yüzyil Kösem" as assassin Yasemin, her first Turkish-language role.

In 2020, she played a role in the series "Wild Republic," which aired in December.

Most recently, Gizem Emre stood in front of the camera for the Netflix and Constantin film "Rumspringa" and for the feature film "Soul Strip" in 2021.
